May 11, 2026

Meet Erica Nolan, a Needham mom of three (soon to be four!) and the founder of Financial Fit, a consulting service designed to take the guesswork out of finding the right financial advisor. Inspired by her husband’s years in the financial industry and her own background in digital marketing, Erica saw firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to find someone you truly trust with your financial future. Wanting to make the process feel more approachable and personalized, she created Financial Fit to connect individuals and families with vetted local financial advisors based on their unique goals, priorities, and personalities — all at no cost to the client. Outside of running her business, Erica loves raising her growing family in Needham and taking advantage of all the family-friendly traditions and community events the area has to offer. For Erica, building Financial Fit has been about creating something meaningful while still being present for the season of life she’s in as a busy mom. Let’s get to know Erica!

Tell us about your family! How many children do you have, where are you from, and where do you live now?

I am a mom of three – James, Libby and Charlotte with one more boy on the way this July! I grew up in Natick and moved to Needham with my husband Jimmy in 2019.

What’s your favorite aspect about being part of this community?

We’ve fallen in love with Needham – the town the community it has been such a positive experience for us to raise our kids here.

What’s your favorite family activity to do in the area?

I love all of the family-friendly events in the area. The Spooky walk and pumpkin decorating and cider donuts at Volante is always a favorite of ours. There are so many opportunities for young families in the area to get their kids out and do something fun while supporting the town.

Tell us more about your background what inspired you to create Financial Fit?

My husband has worked in the financial industry for many years, and I always noticed how difficult it can be for people to find an advisor they truly trust. There are so many advisors out there with varying credentials, investment philosophies, and areas of focus. It can be really overwhelming to break through the noise and find the right person for you. I had a background in digital marketing before having kids, and I saw a great opportunity to combine those skills with something meaningful: helping people find the right financial advisor for their future

What do you love most about what you do?

I love getting to know people and helping them navigate this process. Choosing a financial advisor is one of the most important decisions you can make for your future, yet most people rely on a single referral from someone with a limited view of the advisor landscape. Knowing what to look for and what questions to ask can be a real challenge if you’re not familiar with the industry. My goal has always been to educate and empower people so they can make the best choice for their future.

It’s so hard to balance work and mom life. How do you maintain a healthy work life balance?

Taking it slow and trusting the process. Building a business takes time, and there are so many things I want to accomplish, but between kids, activities, and everything else, time is limited. I try to be as productive as possible during school hours and focus heavily on prioritizing and managing my resources efficiently. I also have a great support system and family close by to help out.

What is the best advice you’ve gotten from another mom?

Get involved in your community and invest in growing your network. You never know where your next client or opportunity might come from, and some of the most meaningful business growth happens through your own network.

What is the best advice you’d like to give a mom?

If you’d like to do something on your own just get creative. The resources available today are incredible. AI tools have made things like building a website, creating marketing materials, and managing social media so much more accessible than they used to be.
